According to the latest data released by a third-party research company, the market size of water treatment equipment (including traditional water dispensers, water purifiers, direct drinkers, pipeline machines, water purifiers and water purifiers) reached 6.7 billion yuan in the first quarter, an increase of 27.3% over the same period last year. Among them, in the first quarter of 2015, the market scale of pure water machine has reached 2.7 billion yuan, the retail sales increased by 82.5%, the retail sales of traditional water machine is 1.7 billion yuan, down 16% and the retail sales of water purifier is 100 million yuan, down 48%. In addition, the retail sales of water purifiers were 1.2 billion yuan, an increase of 52.8 percent over the same period of last year; the retail sales of direct drinking machines were 900 million yuan, an increase of 20.7 percent over the same period of last year; and the retail sales of pipeline machines were 100 million yuan, an increase of 18.7 percent over the same period of last year.


The polarization of the water treatment equipment market is mainly related to the users. Hong Shibin, an expert on network marketing of the China Internet Association, pointed out that with the improvement of the living standards of consumers, more and more users are concerned about the safety of domestic water, which is also the main reason for the rapid growth of the water treatment market in recent years. However, new users are mainly home-based, such user needs are to purify domestic water, the corresponding water treatment equipment is pure water machine and water purifier and other products, and for the traditional drinking machine and water purifier bucket, its water purification effect is relatively limited, the advantage is convenient, customers mainly in the office.
